The Aegean coast between Çeşme, Bodrum and Datça is the most Mediterranean part of Turkey — Greek-island ferries leave daily, the food is olive-oil-and-fish, and the coastline is dotted with coves only reachable by sea or backroad. A caravan lets you skip the chain hotels of central Bodrum and stay in tiny olive-grove campsites instead. Most international visitors combine 4-5 days here with a 2-3 day Istanbul stay.
